POKAI GAKU ANNOUNCEMENT
INTRO
Hello everyone! First of all, thank you so much for your interest in my Pokai Gaku cards.
Due to the recent blows up of the card’s popularity, it’s necessary to make this my official statement and to answer a few questions I’ve received in the past hours.
I made these cards to recreate the childhood joy of opening the pack, collecting cool cards, and trading them with friends. This is my main principle from the start, and I will stand by that for this set and all future sets. Therefore, in light of recent events, I have to make some adjustments about how you can get these cards. I hope that these adjustments will help ensure that everyone will have a fair chance to collect the cards.
Moving forward, you will have to fill out a form to purchase the cards. This will help me filter potential scalpers while also allowing me to accommodate and manage people who want to do bulk purchases, either for streaming/content creation and/or reselling.
The form itself will be pretty simple, similar to pre-ordering merch from convention artists.
For some of you who want to purchase the cards alongside my other merch, there will be a section where you’ll confirm the other merch purchase followed by a prompt to upload a screenshot/photo of your cart filled with any other merch you want to buy (don’t checkout/pay for those yet).
I will send the order confirmation plus the invoice to your email 3 days max after I get the form. The fulfillment process will go as usual, I will pack and ship the order after you pay the invoice. For big purchases (500$+), there might be a longer wait time to ensure that you are an actual person who purchases it yourself.

For those of you wondering why I wrote this long essay, long story short, a collector shared my cards on a discord channel and it blew up. Suddenly my cards are out of stock and my DM is filled with people asking about restocking and bulk purchases.
I’ve thought about what I’m going to do if this project blows up, I just never thought it would happen this suddenly.
Tbh I still can’t believe it, kinda feels like a dream.
For the record, I am infinitely grateful for this sudden success and I hope the person who shares my work there will always pull the best card in every pack they open. Bless you, and I hope all the good fortune comes to you!

Q: Will you restock the cards?
A: Yes, I will. I only put a part of my full stock so I can manage the orders more easily (and boy I’m so glad I did that, it’ll be chaos if I put everything at once)
Q: Will you restock the Collector Box?
A: No. I only made a limited stock of those, and I don’t plan on selling any more collector boxes after they sold out. I might, however, add a few master sets as a giveaway prize to celebrate big milestones (100k, 500k followers, something like that)
Q: Will you reprint the cards?
A: I think I’ve printed enough cards for anyone that are interested, so I don’t plan on reprinting them. Plus, I got to make space for future sets. THAT SAID, I AM WILLING TO DROP SUDDEN REPRINTS TO PREVENT ANY SCALPERS OR HOARDERS.
So, please, do not overspend on my cards. This is a hobby and passion project, not an investment or flipping opportunity.
Q: How many boxes/packs do I have to get to complete the set?
A: In theory, you only need 2 booster boxes to complete the whole 160 cards set (future sets will have different ratios), excluding the foil promos. I formulated the booster box to have exactly half-set without duplicates but to get the exact other half-set, you’ll need some luck.
Q: Okay, but what about the rarity of each card?
A: There are 5 types of rarity, Common (C), Rare (R), Super Rare (SR), Ultra Rare (UR), and screen-printed card. The rarity corresponds to the pull ratio of a single pack from one booster box. I attached the pull ratio on the bottom.
Q: Do you accept bulk purchases? Am I allowed to stream/resell your cards?
A: Yes, you can buy the cards in bulk. Also, yes, you’re allowed to stream and/or resell. I do ask that you keep the price reasonable, and do not hoard too much. There will be case options for bulk purchases and limited quantities per purchase/person. Let me know if you’re going to resell, so we can work on a deal that keeps the market price stable.
Q: What is a case option?
A: It’s an idea I thought from a few months ago. In one case, you will get 10 booster boxes and 5 sets of promo (spread randomly, 2 inside each box, 10 1-card packs outside). You’ll get a guarantee of 5 full sets, but only 1 screen-printed card in each case. While the case option is geared more towards streamers/resellers, you can gather up a few friends and split up the case. There will be a limit on purchasing the case.
Q: How can I get the field guide?
A: The physical book was meant to accompany the first-edition prints. Currently, I don’t have any plan to make another batch of the physical book. I do, however, plan to release a new digital version, with more deep-diving into the thought process of creating this project. The e-book will be released on pay-what-you-want basis, so technically you can get that for free or any amount you’re willing to spend. I decided to go this route for the book since helping you understand the concept and the project as a whole is more important to me than getting a few bucks.
(I do appreciate and won’t reject any amount you send, but seriously just grab the e-book for free when I’m able to release it)
Once again, this project is a passion project, sharing my love of these characters to everyone. Do not go too crazy on it, and please spend reasonably (try not to buy the packs or singles for way above the original price).
